- Try ScreenZen or any other app to help you track and limit screen time on time-suckers like social media. By adding friction to your favorite distractions, you can spend more time on more worthwhile tasks (partly the reason you won't hear from me on Threads anytime soon).
- Turning off notifications for Messenger, email, and other social/messaging apps has been a game-changer for me. By inbox batching (yep, not just email but ALL messaging platforms), I can reply to messages with more intention instead of engaging with them as mindless interactions for when I'm bored.
- Take care of quick tasks (even when you don't feel like it) so they don't pile up.
Bonus tip: Schedule some "worry" or "crying" time onto your calendar too. No kidding—by intentionally carving out space for difficult emotions you'll feel lighter and more ready to take on the rest of the day, which can be challenging when you're bottling all the hard feelings and you're distracted and weighed down by them.
